The next presentation at Kevin and Miles' Friday Night Movies will be a
special holiday event, including a holiday party complete with Christmas
tree, Menorah, good cheer and roasted chestnuts to be followed by a
presentation of Jean Shepherd's "A Christmas Story."  Celebration to
start at 8:00pm sharp.  RSVPs appreciated (Eric and Mark, we'll miss you
guys, have a good trip.)

On the menu so far: lentil soup, eggnog, mulled cider, roasted chestnuts,
and chocolate Hannukah coins.  If you'd like to add to the feast, all
edible donations would be warmly accepted (no fruitcakes need apply).

(Canada, 1983) Written by Jean Shepherd, based on the his novel, "In God We
Trust, All Others Pay Cash."  Directed by Bob Clark.  Starring Melinda
Dillon (of "Close Encounters" fame) and Darren McGavin (aka Carl Kolchak,
The Night Stalker).  Winner of the 1984 Genie Award (i.e., Canadian Oscars
and Emmys) for Best Original Screenplay and Best Achievement in Direction.

Goofs for A Christmas Story:
Continuity: The packing material on the back of father, as he is digging in
the box for the lamp.
Anachronisms: Although set in the 1940s, 1980s cars can be seen passing by
the school at the flagpole scene.
