The ballots have been tallied and the 88th Academy Awards are over. There was a lot of love for Mad Max: Fury Road with 6 Oscars. The Best Picture race was tight this year, but I'm glad to see that my top choice--Spotlight--took home the golden statuette. There were two notable upsets with Best Supporting Actor going to Bridge of Spies' Mark Rylance over Sly Stallone who was favored. And the little sci-fi movie that could--Ex Machina--beat out both Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the aforementioned Mad Max: Fury Road for Best Visual Effects.
Thanks to all for taking part in my 14th annual Oscar contest. The top winners this year were tied for first place. Congrats to three-time winner Nelson Wong who tied with first-time winner Erik Keller, both with 18 out of 21 right in the feature-length categories. The shorts tie-breaker didn't help this time since both got 1 of the shorts categories right. Second place went to Tim McAnany with 17 right and third place to Jimmy Orsag with 16, who found my contest on the Interwebs years ago and has played every year since.

Thanks for participating. See you on the red carpet next year.
